Condoling the demise of senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader L.K. Advani’s wife, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said Kamla Advani was a “pillar of strength” in veteran leader’s life.

“Advaniji’s wife was brought to AIIMS after she suffered a heart attack”.
Sources close to the family said she complained of uneasiness and breathlessness and was rushed to the AIIMS where doctors tried to revive her but in vain.

Advani, who was besides her when she breathed her last, always drew tremendous support from her during the ups and downs of his long political career. “May God give you strength to bear this irreparable loss”.
Party’s general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya described Kamla as “a Mother figure”.
He added, “I recall my many interactions with Kamla Advani ji”.
She also expressed solidarity with the bereaved family members and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
“Deeply saddened by the demise of Kamla Advani ji”. In his message, the governor said that whenever Advani was busy in elections, she would handle household responsibilities and also actively participate in poll campaign.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said: “Saddened at the passing of Kamla Advani ji”. Great loss to Advani ji and family.
