Mulcair promises tourism money

The Conservative government itself pledged $30 million over three years in its last budget to market Canadian destinations with the goal of attracting an additional 680,000 Americans over that period.

But the prime minister says the two people to blame are Duffy and Nigel Wright, Harper’s former chief of staff, the star witness at Duffy’s trial and the man who personally paid the embattled senator’s questioned expenses. “It means sitting down and talking about the things that matter to Canadians, whether it’s expanding the pension plan or making sure that we’re getting our environmental protections in place to be able to not just protect our land, air and water, but to grow the economy in coming years”.

As of Sunday, the New Democrats only have 22 nominees in Alberta, which trails behind the Green party with 24, the Liberals with 26, and the Conservatives with a full 34. Could Mulcair be fearful of weaknesses in NDP policies that a debate among moderates might reveal, which would be masked by the overwhelming presence of Harper on the stage?

They were rapped on the knuckles in 2013 by Veteran’s Ombudsman Guy Parent who concluded that some of Canada’s most severely disabled soldiers would risk living out their final years in near poverty.

A Liberal government would invest millions of dollars to support a clean technology initiative to create jobs and wealth, Justin Trudeau said today.

“I think it takes it too far”.

Trudeau said the NDP would also hike taxes on corporations, stalling economic growth, but would not have the courage to increase taxes on high income earners to help fund a tax cut for the middle class.

Trudeau additionally says his proposal for a brand new tax-free youngster profit would put extra money within the pockets of those that want it most.
