One boat may have sunk, and gasoline in the water is now being evaluated for cleanup by the Coast Guard and the Massachusetts Environmental Police, the spokesman said. The burning boats were near the end of the dock.

“This is the same as one of those apartment buildings catching fire”, said Wilma Ruginski, who watched several of her neighbors lose their boats, and their homes, as her own was spared.

“I’m shaking, and I’m crying – been crying since 7:45 a.m”. The Boston Fire Department’s fire boat also helped out while the Quincy police boat cut moorings of a few vessels and hauled them from the flames.

A two-alarm fire has broken out at a marina in Quincy, Massachusetts, according to fire officials, and it has engulfed at least five boats.

“Just no smoking”, Hayward said.

The exact cause remains under investigation.
