“There is a standard operating procedure after such calls, and we have completed security checks and found that there is no evidence to suggest an imminent attack”, a senior Mumbai police official told The Hindu.
The security arrangment have been beefed up at the airport and other sensitive areas, police said here today. The impact might be bigger than the 26/11 terror strike.
After the call, security at the city’s domestic and worldwide airport terminals, and the Taj hotel, was tightened up, according to local reports.
The caller alleged that he had overheard a plan to detonate car-bombs at the three locations being discussed.
Taj Hotel is one of the targets for the Pakistani attackers.
Bomb threat assessment committee of Mumbai airport has termed the call as “specific threat”.
