A man wanted in connection with the shooting of a 23-year-old American University graduate in D.C.’s Shaw neighborhood turned himself into police early Friday, Metropolitan Police tell WTOP. Police believe the same group of people are also responsible for other crimes.
In a telephone call to WRC-TV on Thursday morning, King said he was innocent and too scared to turn himself in.
Police raided King’s home Wednesday night, just blocks from the site of the shooting, but he was not home. Shlonsky, of Lyndhurst, Ohio, was getting out of a cab on his way to meet friends and police say he was caught in a drive-by shooting crossfire.
He was a graduate of Brush High School and American University.
He said he was nearby when Shlonsky was shot and killed but was not involved.
