Murder victim calls husband from vehicle trunk after she was kidnapped
Her cell signal faded in and out. They relayed what she told them to police, but the information came too late. She tells him she doesn’t know where she’s at. She was reportedly hysterical and tough to understand, and didn’t know if there was just one kidnapper or multiple culprits. She added: “I told her that I loved her”.

“She traveled with a gun, and she knew he had her gun, and she was terrified”, Maze said. He was able to talk with her about two hours later, Rochelle said.
Maze was a longtime cook at Morningside Elementary School in Great Falls.
A woman who was kidnapped at a Montana rest stop in broad daylight was able to talk with her husband by cellphone several times and even talked with police, but she was dead by the time authorities found her auto 325 miles away near Spokane International Airport, Montana authorities said.
Speaking to reporters Thursday, Maze’s daughter said she sounded dizzy and had no idea of her location, where she was headed or even that she was in her own auto.
She also managed to contact police.

No motive has been released in Maze’s abduction, which appears to be a random attack on a woman making a routine road trip, authorities said.
She had been in Helena to visit family and was on her way home to Great Falls when she stopped at the rest area.
Asked if news outlets should question the woman’s kidnapping narrative, the Spokane County sheriff said, “Yes, you should”. Maze is in the auto, deceased.
Earlier on Tuesday evening, Maze spoke to family members and a Helena police officer by cellphone.
Maze was born and raised in Helena with her 10 sisters and brothers.
She was reported missing around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
About two hours later, his phone rang.
“I told her that I loved her”, Rochelle Maze told the Tribune through tears.
“And then the phone shut off”.
“Rochelle said her mother described the man as being large, of maybe African American or Native American, about 6’5” tall and wearing a black hoodie.
On Tuesday, she got in a auto and started driving, called her husband around 11:25 a.m. and said she would go back to Helena to see her mom again.
