Continuing his outbursts against mediapersons, Mann accused journalists of taking money in lieu of publishing news.
September 3: An FIR was today lodged against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Bhagwant Mann at Punjab’s Bassi Pathana Police Station on charges of insulting journalists.
Last week at a rally, Bhagwant Mann had allegedly instigated AAP volunteers to misbehave with mediapersons present at the rally.
Mann even used word “paid media” which hurt the feeling of journalists, it said.
Singh said the party will update everyone about the process and also the date when the list will be submitted to the high command.
AAP workers had claimed that Akali supporters started the fight first, a charge denied by the ruling outfit’s activists who instead blamed the supporters of the rookie party for the clash.
Mann has been mired in controversies.
Mann felt enraged when media persons asked him why he was four hours late for the party’s rally, it said. The AAP MP recently drew flak for alleged security breach after he streamed a video of him entering the Parliament Complex in Delhi.
Reacting to Mann’s outbursts against media, suspended AAP MP Harinder Singh Khalsa said that the Sangrur MP must have said this in an inebriated condition.

Condemning the disruption of the AAP rally at Malout, AAP’s national spokesperson Jarnail Singh had said here yesterday that “with the growing support of AAP among masses, opposition parties have got frustrated and are adopting such tactics to create fear among AAP workers, who are courageous enough to give befitting reply to such tactics”.
