Earlier Sunday, Canadian teen Denis Shapovalov won the Wimbledon’s boys’ title, defeating Australia’s Alex De Minaur in three sets.

“And he reads the game well”, she said during a break from the champagne celebration after sitting at Centre Court for the final.

The couple asked him about his baby daughter Sophia, in an exchange caught by the BBC.

Prince William and wife Kate were joined by former champions Bjorn Borg, Boris Becker and Stefan Edberg as well as Hollywood actors Bradley Cooper, Benedict Cumberbatch and Hugh Grant.

It’s his quietly assertive style of charging the net – something he certainly did in the third set tie-breaker of the match – that has garnered many a fan for Murray.

Raonic, bidding to become Canada’s first grand slam singles champion, had his first break points of the match at 2-2 in the third set but Murray snuffed out the danger, letting out a huge roar after winning game point.

Murray covered 2,367 meters in the final, compared to the 2,430 meters Raonic ran.

Milas, who troubled the Briton with his big serves, could not hold his own after a tough first set which ended 6-4 in Murray’s favour.

Andy Murray may be Britain’s most popular public figure today after his second Wimbledon victory, but he won’t be running for the nation’s highest office any time soon. Raonic saved one but Murray claimed victory was assured when the Canadian netted a return. He also won the first two sets 6-4, 7-6 (3).

Before the tournament Murray resumed working with Ivan Lendl, who has coached him to two major titles in 2012 and 2013.

“I played really good stuff but Milos has had a great few weeks on the grass and had some unbelievable wins”.

Murray nearly broke down again after admitting to the pride he hoped his little girl would feel, and he wouldn’t be the first father to behave differently when considering the thoughts and feelings of his child.

That included the second-set tiebreaker, when Raonic missed an easy forehand volley on the first point and then failed to put away a smash to fall behind 4-1.

Now two-time Wimbledon champion Murray then had some kind words for the sixth-seeded Canuck.

Murray leads Milos Raonic 4-3 on Centre Court.

Andy Murray and Milos Raonic are on serve at the first changeover in the Wimbledon final. Give him the wheel, and he can navigate the ship through turbulent waters, find the opening and pass through like he’s dealing with a Raonic serve.

This one was for Andy Murray.

Murray is looking for his second Wimbledon title, while Raonic is playing for his first.

“I think the last three months have been some of the best I’ve played in terms of consistency”.

Reid and Alfie Hewett took the men’s wheelchair doubles title on Saturday.

While an emotional Andy Murray spent the minutes after the end of the match hugging the trophy he fought so hard to win, a sharp Raonic was a picture of affable calm in the post-match interview, as quoted by the Guardian, of his very first Grand Slam final.

It would have been even better with a win Sunday yet his top weapon, the serve, wasn’t firing the way it needed to be against Murray.
