Murray consolidates second place, Kerber up two
Murray, who claimed his second Wimbledon title with a 6-4, 7-6 (7/3), 7-6 (7/2) victory, looked remarkably fresh faced considering he was photographed leaving a nightclub at 3.30am the night before.

The methodical Raonic described his fortnight as phenomenal, but was still critical of his inability to compete in the second set tiebreak having doggedly kept himself in the match.
“I still feel like my best tennis is ahead of me, that I have an opportunity to win more”, Murray said.
In the clip above the Duke of Cambridge can be heard saying to Murray: “Congratulations, I don’t know how you manage it with no sleep”. He’ll turn 35 on August 8, and while he did pull off a monumental comeback against Marin Cilic in the quarterfinals, he looked quite vulnerable while losing to Raonic and we still don’t know how badly he might have been injured during a fifth-set fall.
“I was hitting the ball clean from the back of the court, so I wasn’t leaving too many short balls for him to sort of dictate points”, Murray said.
WHITHER THE YOUNGSTERS?: Of the eight men’s and women’s singles semifinalists at Wimbledon, the 25-year-old Raonic was by far the youngest. “He is one of the hardest workers out there, always trying to improve and get better”. “I’d imagine he’ll come back very strong from the loss here”.
Murray acknowledged Mr Cameron in an on-court interview as he collected his second Wimbledon title on the nation’s greatest weekend at the All England Club.
The match was won, though, in the two tiebreaks, where Murray was able to pull away quickly.
Williams’ sister Venus moved up one spot to No. 7 after reaching her first major semifinal since the 2010 U.S. Open. With or without McEnroe, Raonic, who also has former world number one Carlos Moya in his camp, is confident he can do for Canadian tennis what Murray has done for Britain. “I just spent time with my friends and my family and then we’ll go out for dinner tonight as well”. “The win feels extra special because of the tough losses”.
He said: “After Wimbledon the last time, the few months afterwards, motivation was hard”. “But it was a very disappointing end to the match for me”, said Roger Federer.
“I feel happier this time”.

Murray’s triumph capped probably the best day in British tennis history, with Heather Watson winning a surprise mixed doubles title alongside Finn Henri Kontinen and Gordon Reid and Jordanne Whiley picked up wheelchair titles. “You can’t forget what he has done in the last 18 months or so – it has been incredible”, Murray added.
