Murray downs Kyrgios, to play Tsonga in quarterfinals
Earnestly believing he could win the title, Kyrgios was unable to hide his utter devastation after Murray buried Australia’s last hope 7-5 6-1 6-4 in a centre-court masterclass on Monday.

Nick Kyrgios has admitted that he failed to give his all during his 7-5 6-1 6-4 defeat to Andy Murray at Wimbledon. “One week I’ll just not do anything”, Kyrgios said.
Kyrgios had taken a set off Murray at the US Open a year ago and beaten him at the Hopman Cup in January but there was no chance of a repeat for while his body was on Centre Court, his mind already looked as if it wanted to be in the locker room.
A more valid one might be why the supremely talented Kyrgios hasn’t turned to a wise head to help him navigate this part of his career, just as Milos Raonic has with McEnroe, Marin Cilic with Goran Ivanisevic and Murray with Ivan Lendl.
“At times, like I’ve previously said, I don’t love the sport”, Kyrgios said. My job is to try to win my next match.
“I obviously like playing the game. I think it doesn’t change it too much, I don’t think”, he said.
“Obviously I’m sure over time he’ll start to do better and understand better how to deal with all of the attention and the questions”.
“I was really crying”, said Cibolkova, who will next play Elena Vesnina and may need to postpone her scheduled wedding on Saturday.
Visitors to SW19 quaffed Champagne and Pimm’s and devoured strawberries and cream on Henman Hill as they basked in the sunshine on People’s Sunday, just the fourth in Wimbledon’s 130-year history.
Out of the blue, though, Murray conjured three set points after luring Kyrgios to the net before cracking a scorching backhand crosscourt victor to have the Australian down 5-6 and love-40.
For Williams, the match swung in her favour once the roof was shut over Centre Court, as she reeled off the last nine games to beat No. 13 Svetlana Kuznetsova 7-5, 6-0 and reach the quarterfinals for the 12th time. “I know what to expect”.
“This is probably my best surface, my best chance to beat him”.
“I felt whoever won the match against us has a chance to play for a semi-final in a grand slam”. The Australian slipped on the turf when wrongfooted by a backhand pass, and soon those flashy drop shots and tweener lobs were seeming increasingly reckless as he casually surrendered that second set in just 26 minutes.
“I’ve been playing well so far in this event and the matches are getting tougher”.
“I think last time I played him was at the US Open in a major”. “But, you know, I don’t really know what else to do without it”.
Her sister Venus faces Spaniard Carla Suarez Navarro on Court 1, while Jo-Wilfried Tsonga – doubtless shattered from his epic 19-17 fifth set victory over John Isner – returns to action against fellow Frenchman Richard Gasquet.
‘He was hitting the ball well, driving Kyrgios insane with the drop shot.
“I said it’s OK”. To be honest, I woke up this morning and played computer games.

Kyrgios saved two of the set points with monster serves, but surrendered the set with a forehand volley into the net.
