Murray makes commanding start at Wimbledon
When asked about his first round match with British No. 6 Liam Broady, Murray admitted: “When you have the opportunity in matches to finish them, you have to be ruthless”.

Broady fought back from two sets to love down to beat Australia’s Marinko Matosevic in the first round 12 months ago.
This will be Murray’s 56th career match at the All England Club, where in 2013 he became first British man in 77 years to win the championship.
“It’s not always that easy”.
“Life goes on. At the end of the day, it’s just a tennis match”.
Andy Murray faces a fellow British player for the first time at a grand slam in the opening round of Wimbledon.
There might be an especially warm handshake at the net from Andy Murray for his second-round opponent at Wimbledon on Thursday.
“I’m working hard mentally because I have to deal with some pains and some frustrations when I want to hit a good backhands and I can not do it”, he said. I served a pretty high percentage.
With Lendl barking orders, expect Murray to be far too much for Broady to handle. I hope to be ready for being an aggressive player next season.
Ahead of his match, Liam, who said he welcomes the chance to play on a big court against a top player, revealed he spoke to his father at Christmas for the first time in years.
This was a stroll on the lawns for Murray and he jogged back to his chair after breaking serve again at the start of the third set.
“I’ve started well here quite a few times over the years”.
Rain delays on Wednesday meant that many matches had to be put off, and tournament organisers chose to start play on the outside courts half an hour early, at 11am, today. Maybe I could have done a bit better there. Obviously Andy is the second best player in the world, and on his day, the best player in the world.
Also reaching the second round with straight-set wins were seeded Frenchman Richard Gasquet and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. Granted, those wins came in challenger play, but it’s clear the 32-year-old is in good form at the moment and should be ready for the challenge.
“He’s a great guy”. I’ve got a lot of respect for him.
Rafter, who won the US Open in 1997 and 1998 and was twice a runner-up at Wimbledon, told Press Association Sport: “This probably isn’t nice for him to hear but he’s probably in a slightly different league”. At the end, we’re walking off the court, he asked me if I enjoyed it. I was like, ‘Yeah, of course I did. I’m sure he’ll have a great time out there.

Away from the home interest, Swiss fourth seed Stan Wawrinka plays American 18-year-old Taylor Fritz, while Australian 15th seed Nick Kyrgios faces a fascinating contest against 37-year-old Czech Radek Stepanek.
