No. 2 seed Andy Murray has dispatched of Croatia’s world No. 33 Borna Coric will relative ease in the second round of the ATP Masters 1000 event in Paris.

Now ranked world no. 46, Coric reached the semifinals in Dubai with that Murray win and also made the final four in Nice on clay in the summer, as well as quarterfinals in Estoril, Umag and Winston-Salem and the third round of the French Open with a nice win over Tommy Robredo.
“So I think it can be one of the best years so far and playing a lot more matches than these couple years”. I like the conditions here. “I feel like I hit the ball well and defended”.
The Scot will now face David Goffin in round three on Thursday, in what is a dress rehearsal for when the pair face each other later this month in Great Britain’s Davis Cup final clash against Belgium. This time Murray returned the compliment, winning 6-2, 6-2. The Belgian has now won seven of his last ten matches on indoor hard courts in 2015. So that’s why getting a chance to play against him is good before the Davis Cup.
The Croat opted to go on the offensive in the second set and he held firm until 2-2. Berdych fell behind early again in the second with Roger-Vasselin darting out to a 2-0 lead. Today was a good day of serve.
Chardy fired 17 aces but it was not enough to unsettle Nishikori, who played better on the key points. After two tense sets, the sixth seed was all over Chardy’s serve in the final set. I think a few of the guys around him like Nick Kyrgios have flashier games styles and are more likely to cause upsets right now.
The Belgian took less than an hour to defeat the world number 87 6-2 6-2. Nadal eventually went on to win the match after losing the first set and trailing by 5-4 in the second. He was into Rosol’s service games routinely as he broke the Czech twice in each set. “I’m very happy with this mental performance”.
In other action on Wednesday, Grigor Dimitrov took down 12th seeded Marin Cilic 7-6 (3), 7-6 (2).
The 10th-seeded Gasquet looked solid in a 6-2, 7-5 victory against the Argentinian Leonardo Mayer. Gasquet won 41 of 48 points on serve.
British number two Aljaz Bedene earlier lost 6-3 7-6 (7-3) to American 13th seed John Isner. Isner scorched Bedene with 21 aces and won 49 of 57 points on serve.

Both players looked downcast as they came off the court and Suarez Navarro described it as a “sad” win, praising 24th-ranked Petkovic for not retiring from the match. Troicki was down 4-0 in the second and 3-1 in the third, before storming back in both sets to pull out an improbable win.
