Murray ‘Proud’ To Hold Wimbledon Trophy Again
He had comprehensively beaten Milos Raonic 6-4, 7-6 (3), 7-6 (2) in two hours and 48 minutes, and Centre Court belonged to him. They worked together when Murray won his first two Grand Slam trophies, including at the 2012 U.S. Open, then split up, before reuniting last month.

Raonic, who will next be in action in Canada at the Rogers Cup from July 23-31, said that he had not discussed if there were any plan’s going forward to work with tennis legend John McEnroe, who assisted him with his Wimbledon preparations.
Wimbledon is the oldest tennis tournament in the world, and is widely considered the most prestigious.
Even after winning at the All England Club for the second time to make it three Grand Slams in his locker, Murray is a long way behind Djokovic in the rankings.
There was a stunning loss to Roberta Vinci in the US Open semifinals in September, ending Williams’ bid for a calendar-year grand slam.
With Sunday’s win, Murray helped preserve the iron-grip on the majors of the sport’s “Big Four” with Lleyton Hewitt the last man outside of Murray, Djokovic, Federer and Rafael Nadal to win Wimbledon back in 2002.
Zuckerberg wrote, “Congrats to Serena Williams for winning her 22nd career Grand Slam title – and Andy Murray for winning his second Wimbledon title!”.
It had been three years since Andy Murray got his hands on the Wimbledon trophy – and once it was back in his possession, he wasn’t about to let it go.
“Then I had an overhead that I didn’t make the most of on my serve”.
Andy Murray says he is unlikely to feature in Great Britain’s Davis Cup clash with Serbia this week following his Wimbledon triumph on Sunday.
“Novak is not just going to go away just because he has had one bad tournament”, he said.
“I think after (winning) Wimbledon last time (in 2013), the few months afterwards, motivation was hard”, said Murray.
MATT Little, Andy Murray’s long-term fitness trainer, reckons that getting the Scot through the clay and grass court seasons without any injury niggles is as big a success as the 29-year-old lifting the trophy itself.
Three-times Wimbledon champion McEnroe was commentating on the final for ESPN on Sunday.
Murray headed home for some much-needed rest after his media duties and was planning a more low-key celebration on Monday night by going out for dinner with his team. “That was the same again today but I wasn’t thinking too much about the previous experiences that I’ve had, I was just trying to find ways to beat Milos today”.
Humbled in his defeat, Raonic said the loss would sting, but he would try hard to come back again.
