Murray targets top ranking after Wimbledon triumph
“I was distracted by the major that was coming up because that was what really motivated me. It would be nice if British tennis was in a better place than when I came in”. Novak, the same thing. This run, interestingly, is very similar to the one Djokovic has had since the birth of his son Stefan in October 2014, winning five of the next seven Grand Slams. “I know how much that hurt me, and I know how good it felt when I won a gold”. I’ve learnt not to be afraid of failing.

I’ve had some great moments here, but also some tough losses.
Andy Murray has said he did not intend to embarrass David Cameron after the Prime Minister was booed during the Wimbledon champion’s victory speech.
“I’m just really proud that I managed to do it again after a lot of tough losses in the latter stages of the slams over the last couple of years”, said Murray, who became the first British man since Fred Perry in the 1930s to have his name engraved a few times on the gilded surface of the Challenge Cup.
Murray said: “I’m pumped for Rio, I think it will be a great event”.
He said: “After Wimbledon the last time, the few months afterwards, motivation was hard”.
The reason he is able to put himself into these situations is because he no longer fears failure.
Garbine Muguruza, who beat Williams in the French Open final but lost in Wimbledon’s second round, fell from No. 2 to No. 3.
“I don’t mind failing”.
The Scot won all three of his matches on clay in Flanders, and contributed to 11 of the 12 points won by Britain across the campaign.
“I do think he’s a leader”. “He was in a lot of pain and frankly it is testament to his work but also to how we have worked together as a team”.
Wimbledon champion Andy Murray says he is “unlikely” to play in Great Britain’s Davis Cup tie against Serbia next weekend.
Reid’s singles achievement follows his doubles title from Saturday when he and Alfie became the first all-Brit partnership to win the Wimbledon wheelchair tennis men’s doubles title. “Whereas now I feel quite different about that throughout the year”. Hopefully through to the end of this year and beyond it I can win some more slams. I feel like this was more for myself, and my team.
Murray adds that even if he doesn’t play in the matches, scheduled for Friday through Sunday, he probably still will travel to Belgrade “just to be there with the team”. I want to spend time with my family and closest friends, the people I work with. I wouldn’t want to do that’.
“I’m going to try to get fitter, stronger”.

The No. 2-ranked Murray most certainly did not forget how to win a Grand Slam title, of course.
