But local police officials who spoke to the Shakeer was merely talking to the girl, who works in the same grocery store as him, outside a cash machine.
In a shocking incident in the town of Mangalore in Karnataka, the 28-year-old man has said that he had met his woman colleague in order to give her some money on Monday evening when he was assaulted. A youth, identified as Shakeer, was tied to a pole at Babugudde near Attavar, stripped and thrashed for accompanying a woman.
Police arrived on the scene after the degrading visuals of the man being flogged were showcased on several television channels. The vigilante mob also targeted the woman when she tried to intervene.
In March, this year, Bajrang Dal “activists” objected to female students traveling on a study trip, finally cancelling the college trip. Police later arrested 14 suspected activists.
According to the thrashed victim, the girl is a sales girl in his office, who asked him for a Rs 2000 loan. The images were circulated on WhatsApp.
