Mustafa Kamal announces his new party as ‘Pak Sarzamin Party’
Former Karachi mayor Mustafa Kamal, who named his newly formed political party as “Pak Sarzameen” a day ago, on Thursday claimed Mutahidda Qaumi Movement chief had “paid an individual in 2013 to establish contact with the then ISI chief Gen Zaheerul Islam”.

“We are receiving plenty of support from people and God willing, this will translate into votes in elections also”, Kamal told a press conference in Hyderabad, where he opened his party’s office yesterday. Banners hoisted in the ceremony venue carried name “Pak Sarzameen Party” along with slogans “Azm-e-Pakistan” and “Arz-e-Pakistan”. The rally is expected to held in Jinnah Ground, which is located close to MQM headquarters -the Nine Zero.
“A party’s flag is where divide begins…” Critcising existing parties of having party flags, Kamal said his party will not have any, and would rather hand over the flag of Pakistan to his workers.
It will be our responsibility to respect those who believe in this flag, he added. The party will work on local policing, infrastructure, lost sense of ownership and rights of the citizens of Pakistan.
Speaking against the making of new provinces, Kamal said it would be of no use without devolution of power to the local bodies. Today there are four, tomorrow there will be 20, but powers will not be devolved to the lowest level and people will not be empowered.
Citing the example of foreign countries “for which we line up to get visas” as places with purely devolved systems of government. “He will enforce accountability”. He said just like Balochistan where separatists fighting against state were offered amnesty, a political package should also be announced for the MQM workers.

While certain party members left before Kamal’s visit to Karachi, uncertainty persists regarding the reasons for the absences of other party members.
