Nia Vardalos, in the interim, turned up in a few TV shows here and there – Law and Order, Drop Dead Diva, Cougar Town – but never really replicated the same success that she had with My Big Fat Greek Wedding.
A main plot point involves Toula’s family planning yet another epic wedding. Maria says. “You. All our lives”, Toula replies. Only thing missing? The Windex.
With the teaser of the sequel, which arrives 13 years after the first film, we meet Toula (Vardalos) and Ian’s (Corbett) daughter Paris. For those of you who, like us, thought Andrea Martin was the best part of “My Big Fat Greek Wedding”, you’re in luck – she appears to be in fine form here.
Meanwhile, a tired Paris tries to extricate herself from her giant, smothering extended family, which flocks en masse to her school volleyball game and reacts in dismay at her plan to attend college far from home. Alas, it’s not called My Bigger Fatter Greek Wedding.

Much of the cast from original film can be seen in the trailer, including N*SYNC alum Joey Fatone.
