My NBA Finals prediction? Better get a broom

“Am I the reason that Brooklyn gave all their picks to Boston?”.

The 29-year-old is having the best post-season of his life, averaging 28.6 points on 50.2 per cent shooting from the field and 43.1 per cent from three-point range – all career bests.

An unprecedented third straight NBA Finals clash between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors may highlight the league’s lack of parity but will be a ratings bonanza nonetheless, say sports industry analysts.

Golden State, which boasted the NBA’s top scoring squad this season, is off to a record 12-0 playoff start with an average win margin of 16.3 points.

Their opponent is also a team that they are familiar with, the Golden State Warriors, according to ESPN. The Warriors, who set a record for wins in the regular season, blew a 3-1 lead to the Cavaliers in heart-wrenching fashion. “I know there will be more time of my life spent off the floor than on the floor”, he said in a recent episode of the JPMorgan Chase series “Kneading Dough”. “I mean, this is what everyone wants to see and this is what we all want to be a part of”.

“It made me really appreciate that”.

“He didn’t make the decision he made to go to the finals. I don’t have to score the ball to make an impact in the basketball game”.

But seriously, if James wins a second straight title (and a fourth overall) does he surpass Jordan? “Once Wednesday comes, we get a chance to fine-tune everything and go from there”. Every night was hard. “So, you just take what you can and just be prepared for the unexpected and just stay dialed in as much as you can”. However, he couldn’t get past the Boston Celtics or the Orlando Magic, and with the Cavaliers unable to build a strong enough team around him, James left to the Miami Heat, teaming up with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, and then promising quite a few championships.

Pushing off any talk about the Warriors until after Sunday’s practice, James was asked to assess the task at hand: beating Golden State’s All-Star-studded lineup of Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green.

“He’s competitive”, Love said of Green.

“Are you going to be happy with the outcome if you lose? Not just him, but we all have to play well”. It’s going to be tough, but we have to lock into what we have to do defensively, and sometimes you can play great defense and it doesn’t work.

“The two best teams is what you want. He was already one of the greatest in the world to ever play the game and the guy keeps getting better”, Brown said.

The Cavaliers are averaging 116.8 points per game this postseason while the Warriors are putting up 118.3 ppg, and the two conference champs have combined for an 18-7 Over/Under count in the playoffs.

Brown, who once coached James with the Cavaliers, has emphasised perseverance when dealing with James, especially since Kevin Durant will be dealing with him much of the time.

The best of James in the 2012 National Basketball Association playoffs came during the series against the Boston Celtics, and a bit vs the Indiana Pacers.

Durant left Oklahoma City previous year as a free agent and signed with Golden State. Since, he’s had his good days and bad days. I had to get used to that.
