N Chandrababu Naidu’s son Lokesh gets an elevation in TDP

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu today announced a 96 member Telangana state Telugu Desam Party committee here today. Chandrababu also expressed hope that Lokesh would effectively carry out the new responsibility. But, a major section is reportedly in favour of the Naidu scion given his due, as “he has demonstrated his organisational capacity” in the party’s run-up to the elections.

He was speaking here after announcing separate committees to handle TDP affairs in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in the wake of the state’s bifurcation.

This is the first time in its 33-year-old party history TDP has constituted a central committee. Incumbent Telangana unit chief L Ramana will retain his post for the second term, while party senior leader Kala Venkat Rao has been made AP unit president.

Lokesh, who was previously coordinator of party workers welfare fund, has been appointed a General Secretary of TDP’s powerful Central Committee.
