N.J. bus driver dies after Conn. crash, reports say

An injured driver was extricated from a coach bus after rear-ending a tractor-trailer on Interstate 95 south in Norwalk, police said.

Police say the driver of a coach bus died and 18 of his passengers were injured when the vehicle struck a tractor-trailer on Interstate 95 in Connecticut.

The bus was operated by RC Travelways, Inc., the Hartford Courant reported.

A charter bus collided with a truck on I-95 South Wednesday in the area of Exit 15, state police said. Ambulances from Norwalk, Darien, Wilton, Westport, and AMR responded to the scene to assist in transporting the patients.

Fire officials say 18 of the 41 passengers were hurt – but they are expected to be survive.

Woolfson was driving the bus in the highway’s southbound lanes around 3:20 p.m.

Woolfson, of Hackensack, would have turned 33 Thursday, Connecticut State Police said.
