NADA Chief: Narsingh Not Guilty, Just a Victim of Sabotage
NEW DELHI (AP) – India’s anti-doping agency dropped charges against wrestler Narsingh Yadav on Monday, clearing the way for him to travel to the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

Indian wrestler Narsingh Yadav won an extremely hard bout outside the wrestling ring on Monday, with NADA clearing him of doping charges.
Then, Narsingh along with his lawyer and appealed against this verdict and later, he brought a new twist to the case, when he claimed that one of his friends had put the drugs in his food.
However, the chances of Narsingh representing India at the Rio Games took a telling blow during the hearing itself.
“I thank everyone who have backed me and stood by the truth”, he said.
The suspense over Narsingh Yadav’s fate continued on Saturday as the National Anti-Doping Agency’s (Nada) disciplinary panel chose to defer its decision to Monday. The wrestler and his coach alleged sabotage but failed to prove it in front of the National Anti-Doping Agency’s (NADA) disciplinary panel.
Narsingh Yadav had fought hard to keep his selection as India’s representative in the 74 kg category.
Narsingh, who bagged the quota with a bronze medal finish in last year’s World Championships, had tested positive for a banned anabolic steroid on both his “A” and “B” samples.
Calling Narsingh innocent, Agarwal said: “There is no fault and negligence on Narsingh’s part”. I believe Narsingh Yadav’s confidence did not drop from the incident; it rather had boosted his confidence. NADA DG Navin Agarwal said the panel studied a lot of documents today and will give its verdict on Monday. It was followed subsequently by a dope test failure of the victor between the two.

WFI chief Brij Bhushan is a respected figure in the world body and his influence can help Narsingh get his place back but UWW is yet come up with its final decision. He ran into further trouble on Wednesday after it was announced that a second test conducted on July 5 has also returned a positive result.
