It’s only the bloody Great British Bake Off Final this evening.

Here are 11 things we won’t forget.

“British Bake Off has been a great advert of Britain’s multi-cultural melting pot”. So you can’t blame them for being a little melodramatic.

And Ian moaned: “You do wonder why you put yourself through this, sometimes”.

Nadiya went into the final as the bookmakers’ favourite to win.

Nadiya joked that she felt “trollied” after yesterday evening, even though she doesn’t drink, quipping: “I imagine this is what it feels like, I need a few more sleep!”

Oh Bake Off, why do you do it to us? “I know I’m going to go home”.

Ian tackled a “colossal curvy carrot cake”, made using five separate cakes. “We share tips and tricks and it’s always nice to have a chat with them”.

Tonight’s signature challenge involves turning enriched dough into filled ice buns. “This bun ting is over”. They decided on the challenge because all the finalists have previously struggled with pastry.

It’s bad news for fans of Nadiya’s time-intensive three-tiered cheesecake, which takes two and a half hours to create – though still only amounts to 70p in energy.

Tamal and Ian, though having lost the competition, have done exceptionally well, too!

I did think the brief for this year’s showstopper was easier than last year.

“Happy, Nadiya?” Paul asked menacingly.

And Nadiya says that the whole family are proud of what she has achieved.

All Paul could do in reply was giggle.

Since the first series in 2010, many of those who have triumphed as best baker have gone on to be very successful after their time on GBBO.

“I wrapped it in many layers of brown paper, put it in a suitcase and hid it under the bed in case anybody saw it”, she said.

And we got an update on all the bakers!

“He’s a rock in our family”.

She continues: “I feel I have tested my abilities and come out a much stronger, confident person the other side”. Speaking throughout the show, her different half defined how her assurance in her own baking had been growing, & referred to as her a “champion in our eyes”. “So my husband and I did get our wedding cake after all”, she said. “What a journey. Thanks #GBBO” A constant high performer, Nadiya was the stand-out contestant of Wednesday.’s remaining, impressing the judges with a sentimental Showstopper Cake, impressed by her own wedding.

After 10 weeks and 30 challenges, including Black Forest Gateaux, Spanische Windtorte, Flaounas and a wobbly Charlotte Russe, 13.4m people tuned in to the final of The 2015 Great British Bake Off to see Nadiya crowned this year’s victor.
