This shimmery shirt was worn by Narendra Modi in South Africa when he had gone to his four-nation Africa tour aimed at enhancing ties with the continent.

“The Prime Minister will inaugurate the Kadana-Hafeshwar irrigation project, which will provide water to several remote villages of this district”.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi spent his 66th birthday in his home state Gujarat where Assembly elections are scheduled to be held next year.

“I am lucky to celebrate this day with so many divyangs (differently abled)”.

Dahod collector Lalit Padaliya said the inauguration ceremony will be held at Limkheda town, around 25 km from the city, and the PM will also address a rally there. Mr. Modi has also handed over the forest land titles to the tribal people of Dahod and adjoining districts. “As the country celebrates 70 years of independence, we must pay tribute to these Adivasi fighters”, he said.

“Due to scarcity of water, my tribal brothers had to migrate and toil hard as construction labourers in extreme heat in the past. I am glad that projects for irrigation and drinking water have been inaugurated today”, he said.

“Farmers of this area are very progressive and have turned to floriculture in big way, achieving tremendous success despite being a hard terrain”, he said while referring to the aim of the government to double farm income by 2022. “There were banks but no entry for the poor, there were insurance policies but not for the poor. Media has helped a lot in spreading the awareness, and today if an old person throws garbage in the open, then their grandchildren ask them not to do so as Modi dada has said”, he said.
