Nancy Drew Reboot Dead At CBS
A casting call for the show caused a stir in January when it was announced that producers were seeking women of “any ethnicity” except white for the lead role; Person of Interest actress Sarah Shahi was eventually cast in the role.

The official description: “Now in her 30s, Nancy is a detective for the NYPD where she investigates and solves crimes using her uncanny observational skills, all while navigating the complexities of life in a modern world”.
So how about you listen to the people (men and women), CBS, and start selecting shows based on their merit, and not on gender discrimination?
With that, there are no more CBS drama pilots up in the air, with all picked up to series or canceled.
According to Deadline, the network initially felt that, despite the pilot coming across well, it was “skewed too female”, which is just the most ludicrous thing ever. The hashtag #toofemale trended for a time on Twitter Monday.
News of Drew’s cancellation has come over days after the announcement that Supergirl, another CBS genre gem that features a female protagonist, will move to The CW for its second season.

The broadcasting giant is reportedly passing on an opportunity to host the series, titled Drew, after further consideration this past weekend. Shahi who was cast as Drew took to Twitter to thank her fans for all of their support after the news broke out.
