Nancy Drew joins quite a long list of older shows and movies being revived as series, with the past week alone revealing that a new MacGyver was in the works at CBS and that Fox was working on a series version of Lethal Weapon franchise.
CinemaBlend reports that CBS is the best place for a Nancy Drew reincarnation because they want it to work as a police procedural. (Though watching Nancy Drew use her “uncanny observation skills” to do her taxes and find the least mediocre Tinder date does sound oddly watchable). According to the network, the young adult series will be updated. Have you got high hopes for this one, fans?
Flavorwire says that there are over 175 Nancy Drew books, including the spin-off genre.
It’s not the first time Drew has been brought to life for TV.
Grey’s Anatomy Executive Producers Joan Rater and Tony Phelan will write the adaptation and Oscar-winner Dan Jinks will serve as a producer.

Edward Stratemeyer’s Nancy Drew novels have been adapted into films and television shows numerous times with the most recent adaption being the 2007 Warner Bros. film starring Emma Roberts and Max Thieriot. This is the latest project to be developed from a piece of popular fiction.
