If you wish to pay your respects to Mrs. Reagan, transportation will be provided for the public at the former Bank of America property located at 450 American Street, Simi Valley, California. It was scheduled to reopen at 10 a.m. on Sunday.

A spokeswoman for the library said the ceremony would “most likely be televised”.

Flowers are left in memory of former first lady Nancy Reagan near the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. She also favored Bill Blass.

Hilary Abramson, a Sacramento journalist who interviewed Nancy Reagan and her husband for a profile in 1976, described the first lady as possessing “an extremely icy personality, almost impenetrable … to a stranger such as myself”. Nancy Reagan will be buried next to her husband at the library. She now is, once again, with her beloved Ronnie. The two married in 1952 and remained so until her husband died from Alzheimer’s Disease in 2004.

“Ronald Reagan was a striver, but his striving was masked by his courteous, amiable manner and enduring fatalism”, biographer Lou Cannon wrote in “President Reagan: The Role of a Lifetime”.

“They had a codependent marriage that became a codependent presidency”, CNN presidential historian Douglas Brinkley said of their time in the White House, which commenced after he was elected in 1981. But we also will remember her other footprints on the “shining city upon a hill”. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1987 and underwent a mastectomy.

Nancy Reagan was known for her fierce loyalty to her husband and her commitments to his reputation and those he encountered while president. His smile, at her direction, was recast, said Doug Elmets, a Sacramento public affairs consultant who worked in the Reagan White House and consulted with Nancy Reagan on the statue. In 2008, Reagan supported Obama’s campaign for president and most recently supported Sen.
