It looks like Naomi Campbell has been found guilty by a Sicilian court yesterday for assaulting a photographer in 2009, but she is not likely to serve time in jail.

Supermodel Naomi Campbell has received a six-month suspended sentence from a Sicilian court following an incident in 2009 when she scratched the eye of paparazzo photographer.

Naomi Campbell was given a six months suspended prison sentence, which her lawyer has vowed to appeal.

When the photographer followed the pair, Naomi hit him with her handbag.

She scratched one of his eyes and Di Giovanni needed medical treatment following the incident and took three days to recover, the court heard.

“Due to the ongoing legal process, we can not discuss the matter further at this time”, Carlo Alleva added.

According to Gaetano in a 2013 statement, “I had just started taking some shots of her and I did not expect such a violent reaction“.

Gaetano actually withdrew the charges after reaching an agreement with the star but prosecutors ordered the trial anyway in the public interest and because of the nature of the incident.

Of course, this isn’t the first run in with the law for the hotheaded supermodel. Naomi has been arrested and sued for different acts of violence and abuse, including assaulting police officers in 2008, and throwing her phone at her personal assistant and maid on different occasions.
