Prime Minister Narendra Modi calls for a global action against terrorism and stresses that India has no tolerance towards black money as well.

The president reiterated that the BRICS countries need to help build “a new-type global partnership that is more diversified, open, pragmatic and efficient”.

Speaking at the G20 summit here, Mr Modi said the world must speak in one voice and act in unison against terrorism, without any political considerations.

He said: “We started off looking at other venues that were 10,000, 15,000, but we realised the enormous demand and the popularity of prime minister Modi”.

Counter-terrorism should become an important aspect of the BRICS countries’ work, Modi said, adding that “the scourge of terrorism is growing, and all humankind should unite to fight it. This must be a priority for BRICS countries as well”.

After a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Obama said the two leaders agreed to show solidarity with France in tracking down the perpetrators of the Paris assaults and to boost the campaign to “eliminate” the Islamic State group. “It not only takes a tragic toll of lives, it also extracts a huge economic cost and threatens our way of life. To give you a few examples, we have expedited regulatory clearances including security and environmental clearance…”, Modi had said. It calls for a comprehensive global response.

G20 must place priority on effective implementation of Sustainable Development Agenda 2030 and ensure adequate funding for it.
