Recently, the alleged comments of Mohan Bhagwat – chief of BJP’s ideological mentor Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh or RSS – that he favours a review of the country’s reservation policy, had forced the BJP on the backfoot in Bihar, which has a chunk of Dalits and backward classes.
Tulsi, a Rajya Sabha MP, accused Modi of poll code violation with his announcement on abolition of interviews, saying the Election Commission had already made it clear that the government can not announce launch of any new scheme when the poll process is underway.
The Congress Party on Sunday lashed out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for doing his Mann Ki Baat programme instead of speaking on important issues in the country and said that people switched off their radios when the programme was on air anyway. It will come into effect from January 1, 2016. Recalling his August 15 address, Modi said the practice was being abolished since it bred corruption and the poor were being looted by “dalals” (middlemen).
The Prime Minister also touched upon various other topics, and spoke in detail on organ donation, urging people to be a part of the movement that will help lakhs of people get a fresh lease of life. There will be no requirement of interview for Group D, C and B non-gazatted posts in central government. I kept on hearing such reports and then it crossed my mind as to why there was the need for an interview for small jobs. “I have never heard of a psychologist in this world who could evaluate a person’s capabilities during just one to two minutes interview”, Modi said.
“I have seen backwardness and have been able to reach the high office due to the blessings Dr Ambedkar, the architect of provision for reservation in the Constitution”, Mr Modi said and slammed the grand alliance leaders for carrying out a disinformation campaign against the BJP and its allies for electoral gains.
