If he (Inderjeet) is not satisfied, he can appeal with the panel of NADA. We are trying to convince them. We are hopeful he will be exonerated. NADA panel is helpful.

The hearing to the 26-year-old’s doping case started on Wednesday at NADA office in New Delhi with elaborate security arrangements as the grappler’s supporters turned-out in huge numbers. “There will be another discussion at 4pm tomorrow”, added his promoters JSW Sports’ MD Mustafa Ghouse. In a late breaking development, it appears Yadav has filed a police report and named a junior wrestler who trains with Sushil Kumar.

“No other Rio-bound athlete has tested positive but there are many other athletes who have tested positive”, Agarwal told a news channel. I have identified the boy who was seen contaminating my food.

An FIR has been filed at the Sonepat police station after suspects were narrowed down. Narsingh himself desisted from taking names but WFI President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh revealed the alleged saboteurs while talking to the media.

“I am being targeted and it’s a clear case of conspiracy against me”, he said.

A day after Narsingh failed the dope test, his roommate Sandeep Tulsi Yadav at SAI (Sports Authority of India), Sonepat, also tested positive for the same substance. “The athlete will be given a choice to have his sample “B” tested”. Each report says the person dumped an unknown powder substance on the food on June 5th that is believed to have caused the failed test. “The fact that Narisngh’s teammate at the camp has also tested positive for the same substance, it clearly looks to be a foul play”. But Narsingh was given preference over the two-time Olympics medallist because it was he who won the quota place for Rio, while Sushil was injured for most part of the season.

He has been a regular medallist for India at continental level, having thrown a distance of 20.41 metres to win at the Asian Athletics Championships in Wuhan a year ago.

Several village heads, local sportspersons and politicians have lend their support to the agitation, saying Narsingh had a fairly clean record so far and if the family alleged a conspiracy there should be a fair probe into the whole matter. Narsingh’s father, Pancham Yadav, echoed similar sentiments and said his son deserves to represent the country at Rio as he has been preparing for it for over four years. “We are also sending a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding for inquiry into the matter”, said Narsingh’s father Pancham Yadav, a native of Neema Murari village in Varanasi.

The United Wrestling Federation (UWF) has confirmed in a statement that Parveen Rana will compete in men’s 74kg freestyle at Rio, replacing Yadav whose samples from an out-of-competition test returned positive for a banned steroid. “We usually keep testing all the athletes so that they can pay attention”, he added.
