The Sprint Cup regular season is approaching its halfway point, with the year’s first visit to the fast, high-banked Dover International Speedway next on the docket.

It turned out to be a harbinger of things to come. Over 150 laps led.
A few drivers, like Ryan Blaney (5th), Austin Dillon (6th) and AJ Allmendinger (8th), were able to lock up impressive finishes in the top-10.
“We’ve run the same stuff every week and never have a problem and randomly when you’re leading you get that”, Pearn said. “I appreciate how nice it is to reel off several wins like this”.
“I couldn’t believe it”, he said of his thoughts when it happened.
It was the kind of post-race Truex is exhausted of enduring.
A few laps later, Kenseth retook the spot.
The toughest part of the night, he said, was having such a good auto only to wind up watching Kyle Busch ride to victory lane. The choice to keep the lead and take advantage of clean air proved a wise one.
Gibbs knows something about dominance, of course.
This feels like uncharted territory, though. Of his last 32 starts, Busch has won eight times. His 112.0 driver rating is also best in the field for this race. Hamlin won the Sprint Unlimited before his Daytona 500 victory. With the race airing only on Fox Sports 1, many fans will look to watch NASCAR live FS1 video stream online to catch the action.
“I didn’t know we’d have that much speed in our race vehicle”.
And so far Busch is the best of a team that’s strong from top to bottom.
The fact that Busch finally won at Kansas may be the best proof yet of JGR’s supremacy.
“About fed up there at one point”, he said. “It’s nice to have that monkey off your back”.
“It nearly caused me to go into retirement”, Busch joked.
In truth, Busch has been steadily building toward his breakthrough in the heartland.
Toyota led the entire first half of the race. But for me, it’s just the challenge of being able to go out there and to continue to try to thrive and be good at what we do; win championships and win races. Before the victory, Kansas was one of three tracks on the Sprint Cup circuit that Busch had not won at. His next chances are May 29 (Charlotte) and June 5 (Pocono).
But the call to stay out was a no-brainer, and it certainly worked out for us.

“It’s hard when your auto is that good in this series”, he said. “Then to have Kyle as hot as he is right now… has been a thrill”.
