After rain delayed the start of the race, the Cup Series cars ran 48 laps before NASCAR eventually postponed the event until Sunday afternoon. The race started more than an hour late because of rain, lightning and hail near the track.

Sunday night’s victory was Harvick’s second at Bristol Motor Speedway and his second of the 2016 season. “But to have the win now and to have that momentum before we get into the Chase and really get things rolling is really what we needed”. We’ve had some good cars here over the last few years. “We had a win in our sights and I just drove the vehicle at 101 percent instead of that 99 that I probably needed to be at”.
The Sprint Cup race at Bristol Motor Speedway is back underway after a stoppage of almost 90 minutes because of bad weather.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr. finished second, with Denny Hamlin third, Austin Dillon fourth and rookie Chris Buescher fifth.
“He got loose and by the time I saw it I was already making contact with him”, Keselowski said. With no lights to allow for night racing and no quick end to the downpour in sight, drying the track in time to get in 101 of the 200 laps to make the race official was not possible. We had some awesome speed out of our Love’s Ford Fusion. Really exhausted of losing races here because of parts failures. “Kinda one of them Bristol things”. “I’m really exhausted of losing races here with parts falling apart”, he said.
On Friday night, Brad Keselowski and Kyle Busch were locked in a pass-happy duel before Busch eventually wrecked and Keselowski ran out of gas – all after 295 of 300 scheduled laps.
Kyle Busch, who led 256 laps, clearly had the strongest vehicle, leading a race-high 256 laps.
Ryan Newman led briefly after the restart before Busch blew past him and opened up another big lead until another caution on Lap 158.
Keselowski hit the back of Busch’s auto as the defending Sprint Cup champ tried to clear him from the lead, cutting down a tire and sending Busch into the wall four laps from the scheduled end.
The race will resume at 1 p.m. ET Sunday and will be broadcast on CNBC. He previously reported a problem with a shock.
“We had a vehicle that we had to really work on all day”, a red-faced and worn-out-looking Dillon said on pit road after the race. Busch said to NASCAR after exiting his No. 18 Toyota Camry.
Kyle Busch was angered by his equipment failure and said the race shop “was going to hear about it Tuesday”. Busch threw his helmet and called both Allgaier and his spotter the “biggest moron (s) out there”.
With rain pelting the garage roof at Pocono Raceway and knowing he’d have to wait another day to race, Mikhail Aleshin just shrugged. That’s stupid. So, I don’t know.
In the beginning, it seemed like Kyle Busch had the auto to beat throughout the race. It is also his second win at the track. “I tell you what, my butt’s kicked right now”. I tried to make up for it and got loose. He had raced his way back toward the front before being collected in two on-track incidents. The new leader in that regard is Jeff Gordon, but it was announced this week he will not race at Michigan International Speedway regardless of Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s health.
This was supposed to be Bristol Motor Speedway’s annual night race.

Allgaier apologized to Busch. “We should have won a lot of races this year but we just had things not go our way”, he said.
