Cole is well-known for her 1991 album “Unforgettable …”

Cole’s other hits included “Everlasting”, “Sophisticated Lady”, “I’ve Got love on My Mind”, and “Good to Be Back”.
Cole initially struggled with success, battling a devastating cocaine addiction until her manager sent her “kicking and screaming” to drug rehab in 1983, the singer recalled.
Longtime Grammy producer Ken Ehrlich remembered Cole as having “one of those magical voices that grabbed you from the first note”. On the outside, Cole was fulfilling her father’s legacy and drawing comparisons to Aretha Franklin. Over the years her devotion to R&B music and the great American songbook helped to keep the our countries unique musical traditions alive and well.
Her album, “Unforgettable… With Love”, won the Grammy for Album of the Year and has sold more than seven million copies in the United States.
Natalie Cole’s sister has recalled the singer’s final days, saying she is now “at peace”.
“We’re suffering but she’s not”.
She continued: “My twin sister Timolin and I were with Natalie at Christmas time as a family”.
She criticized the Recording Academy for giving five Grammys to drug user Amy Winehouse in 2008. “She fought for so long”. She was 15 when he died of lung cancer, in 1965, and would reunite with him decades later in a way only possible through modern technology.
Cole announced in October that she was cancelling concerts scheduled for November and December – including a New Year’s Eve performance in Los Angeles – due to illness.
Many stars have poured condolences for the passing of Nat King Cole’s daughter.
“We are devastated by the loss of our beloved sister, music legend Natalie Cole”.
This symbiosis of talents reached a technical and emotional peak with an engineered “duet” of father and daughter on “Unforgettable”, which led older and younger generations of record buyers to take the album rapidly into platinum-sales status.
Cole showed a world so cold to the idea of having a minority in media that it was possible and wonderful, and silenced all the haters by her lovely voice.
She was married three times and divorced her most recent husband, Kenneth Dupree in 2004.
Cole made her recording debut in 1975 with “Inseparable”.
Tragically her father died before Natalie began her solo career, but she continued to soar to success.
