They’ve lost 10 in a row since…

The Golden State Warriors won an 11th consecutive game Saturday night, beating the Nets 107-99 in overtime with Brooklyn left with only themselves to blame.

Brook Lopez had a chance to win the game at the buzzer in regulation but his wide open look in the paint off and in-bounds pass hit off the back rim. “It’s a heartbreaking loss”.

Iguodala proved the long-range hero over Curry, draining a 3-pointer at the other end to tie it. The Nets had the last shot, though, and it was a beauty.

Meanwhile, the sad Nets remain the sad Nets.

“Defensively, we did not compete and they were able to pretty much get their whole team in a rhythm”, interim coach Luke Walton said.

“It wasn’t bad defense”, he said. He played 32 minutes.

“We’ve got a bunch of smart players on our team”, Iguodala said.

The Nets didn’t respond well to the misfortune.

Wizards 108, Magic 99: WASHINGTON – Kris Humphries scored 23 points, Garrett Temple matched his career high with 18 points and Washington ended a three-game losing streak. The teams traded the lead five times in the final 1:45 and the Nets appeared to have it under control when Curry showed he indeed is human and missed a layup with 22.9 seconds left. “He’s a luxury to have on the court”.

Brooklyn, which completed its road trip 1-3, had two subsequent shots at a win, but point guard Jarrett Jack misfired on an 18-footer before Lopez’s miss at the horn. We didn’t foul immediately when the ball came inbounds on their previous possession and I blew that chip shot at the end. Joe made a ideal pass. It was exactly the way the play was drawn up.

“Joe, he put that on a platter and I blew it”, Lopez said.

Curry shot a modest 13-of-31, attempting 16 shots from beyond the arc. Andre Drummond finished with 18 points and 19 rebounds. The Warriors – without Klay Thompson, due to a sore back, and Leandro Barbosa, due to personal issues – were without two of their key overplay-punishing tools. Detroit, which rallied from 13 points down in the fourth quarter to beat Portland a night earlier, cut the gap to 80-76 heading into the final 12 minutes. But for those of us who endured The Dark Ages (historians debate the exact range of this time period, but it’s approximately the years between 1997-2002 when the Warriors struggled to win more than a quarter of their games), what Nets fans are going through might be unfortunately familiar.

Brooklyn coach Lionel Hollins insisted he’d tried to call a timeout before the violation but to no avail.

The gap was reduced to two points by the end of the first half. The talent level is there and so is the superstar player, but we can’t just write off the demands of playing 82 National Basketball Association games in a span of five to six months. And then Andre came up huge. “That’s the leader of our team”. And like the rest of this team, that a few assumed had reached its peak last season, they’re finding ways to become even better. The exterior of Oracle Arena was lit in red, white and blue as part of the tribute…. The Warriors are the fourth defending champion to start 4-0, joining the 1957-58 Boston Celtics, 1964-65 Celtics and 1996-97 Chicago Bulls….

Through this point previous year, Curry had made more than 20 less three pointers.

After the game, Curry talked about passing his father and what it means to him and the Curry family.
