National Basketball Association roundup: Thunder rout Kobe Bryant-less Lakers
“I’ve been very fortunate to play in so many All-Star games”, Bryant said.

Bryant has been nagged by injuries in recent seasons and is struggling with a sore right shoulder.
Oklahoma City extended its lead to 26 points before halftime, and then never looked back as they entered the fourth quarter with a 37 point lead. It’ll be interesting to see how the Thunder respond to that adversity.
Bryant will retire at the end of the season after winning five National Basketball Association championships over two decades with the Lakers, and labelled Simmons as “a fantastic player” with “a tremendous amount of potential”.
“Both those guys reacted the way I wanted them to, which is, ‘I want to get back in the starting lineup, so I’m going to play even harder and show coach that I’m ready, ‘” Scott said.
Los Angeles couldn’t get any closer as Oklahoma City essentially went through practice drills.
“The Lakers’ record is irrelevant at this point”, said Bob Corb, president of Realize Excellence Consulting and former sports psychology program director at the University of California, Los Angeles. Instead, Bryant is still being treated as the star of the team, somewhat hindering the development of Los Angeles’ younger stars such as Jordan Clarkson, Julius Randle and D’Angelo Russell.
Bryant said that his legs feel great and that he feels as though he can maintain this higher level of play.
“It’s just a matter of what he wants to take on”, Bryant said.
Russell Westbrook had 13 points and 11 assists for his 18th double-double of the season. “Like I told them, it was pathetic in every area”.
The Warriors are still fuming over what they say was unprofessionalism by the Bucks during their loss in Milwaukee – the seventh game of a seven-game road trip for Golden State.
“I’m sure it didn’t help”, he said, adding that his shoulder bothered him before the play.
“It’s embarrassing”, he said after scoring 15 points.
At the same time, it’s a tough answer for Bryant to list off the top of his head when there’s been so many great players that he’s faced off against.
He dunked Thursday for the first time this season, an impressive slam in which he moved past Houston forward Trevor Ariza and beat power forward Clint Capela. Still others include two Cal freshmen, 6-7 Jaylen Brown and 6-10 Ivan Rabb, Kentucky’s freshmen Jamal Murray, 6-4, and Skal Labissiere, 6-11, and Utah’s 7-1 sophomore, Jakob Poeltl.

Try as they might, the Lakers aren’t going to make the playoffs in the loaded Western Conference with or without Bryant playing 30 minutes a night.
