National Football League notebook: Dolphins pick says accounts hacked

The tale of Tunsil took yet another unusual twist when the news conference started more than an hour late because hey suffered an allergic reaction while at the Dolphins’ complex. Tunsil appeared healthy speaking to reporters a short time later.

Later, Tunsil was asked what had transpired. “Like I said, people (are) hacking my account”.

Laremy Tunsil tumbled down the National Football League draft board Thursday night after a freakish video of him was posted on his Twitter account minutes before the start of the proceedings, potentially costing the offensive lineman millions of dollars.

“It was a mistake”.

In past years, there may have been a debate, for example, over whether the Dolphins should have taken a late-round flier on offensive lineman La’el Collins amid questions of whether he could have been a suspect in a murder (it turned out he wasn’t; he’s in Dallas now). When he learned last night that Mr. Tunsil’s accounts had been hacked, he was surprised that the posted content even existed. “I don’t know what happened”, he said. “I’m glad to be in Miami”.

Later, a post on his Instagram account showed an alleged text exchange with an Ole Miss football staff member that included Tunsil’s request for money.

“We’re trying to find that out right now”, Gase said when asked to describe what happened to Tunsil.

When Tunsil was pressed about whether he took money, he said, “I’d have to say yeah”. Tunsil had an allergic reaction to something he ate earlier in the day and he was not feeling well.

Tunsil said his account was hacked, and while he was the man in the video he didn’t post it. He wouldn’t face any discipline if he entered Stage 1 of the drug program, but a second violation in the ensuing 90 days would trigger a fine worth three games’ pay and make him subject to suspension for a third violation.

The school, which already is under investigation by the NCAA for improper payments, said Friday that it was “vigorously” looking into the legitimacy of the texts.

The Baltimore Ravens were poised to take him sixth, but reportedly took him off their draft board after the marijuana video surfaced and selected tackle Ronnie Stanley instead.

That get-to-know-you process continued Friday, when Tunsil appeared at Dolphins training camp to meet with the media.

But Ross said it’s the Tannenbaum-Grier duo that’s really making things hum.

“The mistakes he made in the past were released out there to millions with an intent to harm him”. We were comfortable with that. “Appreciate everyone’s patience”, Tannenbaum said. ‘All of the decision makers in the room last night feel good about Laremy as a player and a person.

“No character issues at all”, Tunsil said of himself Friday.

“Where he plays, again as we said coach Gase will decide that, but we’re excited that Laremy’s here”.
