National Football League notebook: Ravens QB Flacco out for season

He is Baltimore’s leading rusher.

The loss to the Minnesota Vikings in the Week 9 run of the season was a tough road game defeat but definitely understandable. Foles couldn’t seem to get things going and was constantly at the wheel of stalled out drives and a sputtering offense.

Nonetheless, he stayed in the game and finished the last few plays to set up Tucker’s kick.

That paved the way for Spencer Ware to have a breakout performance, rushing for 96 yards and two scores on just 11 carries.

The four total turnovers for the Rams all came off of fumbles, with all of them coming in their own territory and putting the defense behind the eight ball. Had it not been for that call, the Rams may very well have been kept scoreless for the half.

Indeed, it was fairly miserly for the offense of both sides as the pair combined for just 11 first downs and 212 yards before half time, but it was the Rams who got the only touchdown in that time when Todd Gurley burrowed his way over from a yard out.

Ok, but what about everyone else on the field, including referees and Rams head coach Jeff Fisher?

For his part, Upshaw recalled another time when injuries to veterans forced youngsters to play.

John McNulty, like many fans in the stadium, didn’t realize the extent of Flacco’s injuries until after the game. He was replaced by Demetrius Rhaney.

However, this time Lynch was on the inactive list before the game.

Aaron Rodgers threw for 212 yards and two touchdowns, Datone Jones had two of Green Bay’s six sacks, and the Packers (7-3) stopped a three-game losing streak to pull even with host Minnesota (7-3) in the NFC North Division race. It’s been all Gurley this afternoon as Tre Mason is inactive due to disciplinary actions stemming from earlier in the week.

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco tore his ACL and possibly his MCL in a win over the St. Louis Rams Sunday.

The Baltimore Ravens have been plagued with injuries this year.

Regardless, the injury to Joe Flacco is bad. Keenum has 31 yards passing, no touchdown passes, no interceptions. That led to a Ravens field goal, which secured a 16-13 victory. A poor receiving corps.

The Ravens also lost running back Justin Forsett, who left the game with a broken right arm. Flacco suffered the injury on the final drive of the game, but was able to finish out the game and lead the Ravens to the victory. As Keenum withered around in pain, someone – a Rams’ trainer, an official, a concussion spotter, a teammate – had to have spotted that something could be wrong with player who just had his helmet slammed off the turf.

Even seldom-used backup Griff Whalen is getting more looks (14 targets over last three games) than Johnson, who isn’t worth a roster spot as you head down the stretch in your fantasy league. While paying an enormous sum to Flacco, they could also not afford to keep players like Ngata, Kruger or Jones.
