National Football League punishes Seahawks with fines, loss of draft pick
Despite not scoring a touchdown for the second week in a row, the Rams managed to defeat Seattle 9-3 in their return to Los Angeles – the first regular-season home game there for Stan Kroenke’s Midwest defectors since 1994. Despite an inconsistent offense, the Rams (1-1) got a solid effort from their defense and beat the Seahawks (1-1) for the third consecutive time.

“We’ve got to keep working on it”, Fisher said, “some way, somehow, whether it’s special teams or defense, but I’ll take a touchdown next week. That’s just one of them”. “If I did, it wouldn’t have happened”, he said with a grimace. Seattle’s players were allowed to attend meetings, but were limited to just one day of on-field work.
Seattle Seahawks running back Christine Michael, center, fumbles the ball as Los Angeles Rams outside linebacker Alec Ogletree, right, recovers the ball and outside linebacker Mark Barron dives in during the second half of an National Football League f.
“We got down close to field-goal range a couple of times, obviously helped with the field position battle, but if you’re going to be successful in this league, there are a lot of really good offenses, you have to score points”. “You can’t ask for anything any better”. “We looked at the film and fixed it and I think we were better today”. But every game, we look at it as important. And moving forward, a tough schedule against teams that can put points on the board at a high rate, the Rams can’t sustain without being able to cross the goal line. Zuerlein also connected on a 39-yard attempt in the first and a 28-yard attempt in the second quarter.
Lockett missed a significant chunk of the game with a sprained knee, but returned for the final drive and caught a 53-yard pass from Wilson.
They’re all back now, eager to make new memories. Both Rawls and Christine Michael have been unable to find a rhythm in the run game.
Seattle was called for offensive pass interference three times Sunday, the last penalty resulting in Carroll pretty much fumbling away his 65-year-old mind, the NFL’s oldest coach suddenly more crotchety than ever.
Overall, the Seahawks compiled 306 yards in total offense to 283 for the Rams. Wilson hit Doug Baldwin for a 2-yard strike with 31 seconds left in last week in a 12-10 win over the Miami Dolphins. Kenny Britt led the Rams with six receptions for 94 yards. Coach Pete Carroll has also been fined $200,000.
Said Fisher, after reviewing the victory over the Seahawks: “Our opener was a team loss and I don’t blame it on Case. I thought we would be ahead of that”. “Those guys did a nice job”.
NOTES: Seattle RB Thomas Rawls sustained a leg injury in the first half and did not come back. Nine of Seattle’s 13 third-down chances were of at least 7 yards.

“Most definitely”, Rams defensive tackle Michael Brockers said.
