National Football League to review Panthers’ medical handling of Cam Newton hit
I wasn’t sure if he was running it or what he was doing? I’m not the doctor, again. “I think that’s our moment”.

Replays showed Newton – who is 6-foot-5 and 245 pounds – received at least four helmet-to-helmet hits in the 21-20 loss to the Broncos.
The NFL said in a statement Friday morning that the Panthers’ medical staff, as well as an independent neurotrauma specialist, reviewed videos of Newton’s hits during a pause in the game and decided not to take additional steps.
Stewart said after the game he felt as if he led with his shoulder, not his head. A flag was thrown but it was nullified because officials also called Newton for intentional grounding. “Not really. I thought it was going on with both sides of the ball so they kind of let the game play out”.
“This is about player safety at the end of the day, so we’ve got to come to a better solution”. That’s right, during the entire 2015 season, the Panthers did not benefit from a single roughing-the-passer call.
But the coach says change could be coming because the Super Bowl rematch had the country watching.
Newton was later than usual to the podium because he was receiving treatment, according to the Panthers. That’s what I do feel. “I lost an endorsement”.
How Newton was not flagged by the concussion spotters in the press box to leave the game for brain evaluation is unexplainable.
This particularly was curious considering how militant the league has become so publicly about protecting its players from concussions.
Last night’s NFL kickoff featured a pre-game protest, a game-breaking missed field goal, and, of course, an apparent breach of the league’s concussion protocol.
“We are reviewing the matter”, union spokesperson George Atallah told USA TODAY Sports.
Once by Shaq Barrett, once by Brandon Marshall, once by Von Miller and once by Darian Stewart. “They ran the ball well and their offensive line did a nice job, and that’s on us”. He has been participating in practices but did not play in any of the Chiefs’ preseason games.
Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton took quite a beating in the National Football League regular season opener against the Denver Broncos.
Some of the hits – there were 17 in all – on Newton featured hits to the head that bordered on unsafe, not to mention illegal. He was also was less effective passing, completing just 7 of 16 passes for 83 yards with an interception after halftime.
If Newton wants to play outside the pocket and run like a running back then he should be treated the same. “We’re going to bring that every week”, Harris said. We’ve seen him limp throughout the game. We may not have to wait that long to see him affect how the position is officiated. After all, Newton has strong legs, going after them won’t work.
“I think there is a little bit of prejudice to that”, Rivera said.
“It’s tough, man. The guy is a big defensive end playing quarterback”.

On Sunday, the National Football League released a statement saying it’s launching a separate investigation to ensure all necessary protocol was followed within medical response to Newton.
