National Herald case: Desperate Sonia clueless Congress
A defiant Congress vice-president had yesterday charged the BJP with adopting vendetta politics and vowed to continue questioning the government.

The Gandhis’ lawyer, Mr Abhishek Manu Singhvi, who is also a Congress spokesman, said they are willing to appear in court, but want more time.
During the hearing, senior counsel Ramesh Gupta told the magistrate that accused Sam Pitroda is presently in the United States and they will try their best to make sure he appears before the court on December 19. “The GST bill has gone for a sky walk”, Anand Sharma, the Congress party’s deputy leader in the upper house, told reporters.
This is something that is being driven by the Prime Minister’s Office, which is as far as the National Herald matter is concerned. “I’m the daughter-in-law of Indira Gandhi, I’m not scared of anything”, she said when asked to comment on the Delhi high court’s refusal to grant her and son Rahul exemption from a personal appearance at the trial court.
Asking the opposition Congress to fight the National Herald case legally and not to disrupt parliament, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said on Thursday that Congress leaders have to find a way out of the chakravyuh (phalanx) that is their own creation.
Both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha failed to transact any business as Congress members were in the Well all the time, shouting slogans against the government, leading to repeated adjournments before the final one at minutes past 3 pm.
The Congress vice president had even earlier termed the National Herald Case proceedings as “political vendetta” coming out of the PMO. For Congress to accuse the government of practicing tyranny was like a man crying at becoming an orphan after killing his parents, he said.
“Let them (government) do what they want”.
“The transactions of the Congress with AJL via YIL are not mere commercial transactions, as these transactions legitimately attract the allegations of cheating, fraud, breach of trust, misappropriation, etc”.
He also alleged that while the Congress ministers and workers were booked, the law allowed BJP followers and leaders to go free. “Truth will come out”, Gandhi said. Congress is doing all it can to delay the GST Bill in Parliament.
