National Herald Case: Sonia Gandhi, Rahul ready to go behind bars
Meanwhile, Congress has advised state leaders not to troop in to Delhi on Saturday as the party wants to keep Sonia, Rahul’s court appearance a low-key affair. Security has been tightened at the Patiala House courts complex in New Delhi, and movement is likely to be restricted around India Gate, where the court is situated.

Earlier, there have been indications that Sonia and Rahul Gandhi might not apply for bail and go to jail “to show their innocence”.
According to sources, paramilitary forces will be deployed as part of beefed up security.
The police have made elaborate security arrangements considering the fact that the court is a public place where a number of lawyers, litigants come daily.
Azad, who is a senior Congress spokesman, said the party chief, vice president and the entire leadership of the party have full faith in judiciary and the law of the land.
Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi will appear in the trial court here on December 19 in connection with BJP leader Subramanian Swamy’s complaint in the National Herald case.
The Delhi High Court on Monday dismissed the plea of the Gandhis to quash the summons issued to them by a trial court on Swamy’s complaint regarding the acquisition of National Herald newspaper.
Senior leader and advocate Abhishek Singhvi, who represented the Gandhis in court, steered clear of questions whether they will apply for bail.
The Congress has also invited its chief ministers and other state leaders and might lead a march in the city on that day, the reports added.
Directing his censure towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress Vice President Gandhi said, “We talk about development, bullet trains, and changing the country, but no one cares about the cause of poor people and their future”. Congress MPs have been asked to gather at the party headquarters on Saturday ahead of the appearance of the Gandhis in the court as a measure of solidarity.
