National Weather Service confirms EF0 tornado touched down in Elkhart County
The severe storm that prompted tornado warnings early Monday morning knocked down several trees and power lines.

The National Weather Service will be sending out a team later this morning to assess the damage, and a final assessment is expected this afternoon. Winds reached 100 miles per hour and the twister stayed on the ground about a half a mile.
Concord fire officials say 39 homes sustained some sort of damage, but only one suffered significant structural damage.
Monday’s tornado is the 14th confirmed twister to hit MA since 2010, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
Gov. Charlie Baker, Lt. Gov. It damaged at least 100 trees and caused minor damage to some homes on the city’s west side.
According to the Enhanced Fujita Scale, or EF, an EF-0 is the weakest category of confirmed tornadoes. It tossed trees in different directions and twisted them off halfway up the trunk.
