A 76-year-old man was killed when a tornado hit his home, CBS news reported Garvin County Sheriff Larry Rhodes as saying.

Flying debris is the greatest danger during a tornado, and experts advise residents to cover their heads if a storm is bearing down. Stacey Pulley said another man died near the town of Connerville.
As many as eight tornadoes touched down in Oklahoma Monday, two of which were rated as strong EF-3 tornadoes via damage assessment.
Tornadoes swept across portions of the Plains on Monday, killing two people at the start of what is expected to be a period of unsettled weather in the nation’s midsection. A few tornadoes were intense but largely in rural areas so damage is fairly isolated.
Several people were hurt in the Johnston County storms, but the precise number had not been determined, Bryant said.
Both tornadoes left behind major damage in their paths.
The bad weather is expected to move towards the OH and Tennessee valleys on Tuesday, according to forecasters, while a second storm system could reach north Texas on Wednesday.
The Storm Prediction Center says central and northern Texas – including the Dallas-Fort Worth area – could see large hail and powerful winds today.
Crews from the National Weather Service will survey tornado-damaged areas Tuesday to determine how many twisters formed.
In all, the Storm Prediction Center received 23 reports of tornadoes in Arkansas, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska and Oklahoma.
In Atoka County, KHKC radio station manager Ricky Chase was inside the radio station with his daughter when a tornado struck, he reported on social media.
