With last night’s win, Los Angeles clinched the season series with Washington, after sweeping the Nationals when the two teams met in Dodger Stadium.
Turner, who hit a 3-2 cutter deep to left center in the first inning for his two-run shot and then a 3-0 fastball to center in the third for his three-run shot, said he has been healthy all season but is feeling comfortable again.
But this one was far.
Harper has now hit 20-plus home runs in four consecutive seasons, becoming only the 12th player in Major League Baseball history to record as many consecutive 20-plus home run seasons prior to his 24th birthday. He did strike out Harper and NL batting leader Daniel Murphy before an RBI double by Wilson Ramos ended his night. Norris (5-8) struck out eight but allowed six earned runs on seven hits, including three home runs, before getting pulled in the sixth inning.
Lopez (0-1), considered one of Washington’s top prospects, allowed six runs and 10 hits in 4 2/3 innings. “These guys clobbered the ball today”. It was also his longest home run of the season, and his second longest in the past two years. “It was fun. It was exciting”. He struck out eight as part of an inconsistent outing, and it didn’t help that he allowed three home runs, including back-to-back from Revere and Werth in the fifth. “Clayton is doing everything he can to get back”, Roberts said.
Dodgers: Roberts said surgery was “more of a possibility” for Kershaw after a setback with the herniated disk in his back…. 301 with 17 homers, was not in the starting lineup because of a stomach virus, according to manager Dave Roberts.
The Dodgers also improved to 12-6 since their ace pitcher was placed on the disabled list. But Washington’s Trea Turner had a two-run triple in the bottom of the eighth off Chris Hatcher to make it 7-3 before left-hander Adam Liberatore came on to pitch for the Dodgers. Utility infielder Stephen Drew was not seen in pregame clubhouse availablility or on the field, so it’s possible that he’s the odd man out. Baker said RHP Joe Ross (shoulder inflammation) and 1B Ryan Zimmerman (left rib cage sprain) will each go on a rehab assignment at some point.
Nationals’ prospect Koda Glover, who was called up to the majors this afternoon, is the second member of the 2015 Draft class to make it to the big leagues, joining Chicago White Sox’ 1st Round pick Carson Fulmer. Glover only needed four pitches to get through it.
“I was very excited at first and I felt a little nervous”, Lopez said. “I don’t normally get nervous, but it definitely got the blood pumping”.

After Utley homered, Howie Kendrick’s opposite-field single extended his hitting streak to 11 games and Justin Turner followed with a double. A fly out left him stranded.
