“There’s no worse feeling than getting a call about one of your players”, said Underwood, who was in Las Vegas doing player evaluations at the time.

“This is the hardest couple of days I’ve ever experienced in my coaching life”, he said.
OSU Coach Brad Underwood said he is devastated by the news. The team went to check on him and noticed there were issues, Shutt said.
The temperature was 99 degrees at the time of the workout, according to the Stillwater News Press. He had his whole world in front of him.
In a press conference held Friday morning in Stillwater, Oklahoma State Communications Director Gary Shutt said it was a “tragic, painful day for Oklahoma State University and the Cowboy basketball family” and extended condolences to Coger’s family. A 911 call was placed at roughly 5 p.m.
NCAA rules allow for basketball teams to meet eight hours a week during the summer.
“Dreams are supposed to begin here (at Oklahoma State University)”.
Wall posted on Instagram: “Rest in Peace to the lil homie who always had the competitive spirit.you will be missed Tyrek”.
Oklahoma State has scheduled a news conference for Friday at 11 a.m.
Tyrek Coger, 21, died Thursday evening after a 40-minute workout on the football stadium stairs, school officials said.
He was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The AP originally reported Coger was 21, based on an OSU news release, but Shutt deferred Friday to the university police report on the incident, which lists his date of birth as December 20, 1993.
Coger, from Raleigh, N.C., played last season for Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington, N.C. The 6-foot-8 player arrived at Oklahoma State on July 5. Ole Miss head coach Andy Kennedy help connect Coger with Underwood and Oklahoma State, and the former junior college player made a decision to join the program in late June after making a visit to the Stillwater campus.
