NATO, Russian ambassadors meet to keep dialogue open
“Canada is proud to provide assistance to Latvia as a friend, ally and guest”, Dion said.

Last week’s Nato Summit in Warsaw began the process of sending military reinforcements eastwards, both to reassure anxious allies like Poland and the Baltic states, and to send a signal to Moscow that the Alliance would defend the territory of all of its members.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said that Mr. Shell was denied entry because his name was on a “stop-list” that Russia widened in response to US visa sanctions on Russians.
Now, eyes will turn to the NATO-Russia Council called for Wednesday. “We are living in a period of enormous risk”, he says. If NATO and the European Union are the forces of peace and stability, who needs warmongers? While the move technically dodges that definition, the forces will permanently rotate by next year for as long as is needed, Mr. Stoltenberg said. Most recently, she was assistant secretary of state for worldwide organization affairs.
The Kremlin cited the protection of Russian residents as the reason for the annexation.
With us now to discuss what came out of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation summit and the future of the alliance is Esther Brimmer. “When I hear we have to believe in President Putin’s or the [Ukrainian] separatists” goodwill”, said Tusk, “I know it’s either naivety or hypocrisy. “The current situation is highly volatile”. With the planned stationing of troops “we are becoming a full member of NATO”, Macierewicz said.
It took a more measured line on Tuesday, with foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova saying Moscow plans to raise “increasing aviation safety in the Baltic Sea region” at the Brussels talks. Either possibility could result in war with Russian Federation.
Alongside it, Russian Federation also sent an RK-109 missile boat, an MB-23 sea tug and a deployment of Sukhoi Su-24 front fencer warplanes.
The officials are expected to discuss recent developments in bilateral and transatlantic co-operation, the results of the NATO Summit in Warsaw, and further steps in the implementation of NATO policy of deterrence and defense and the enhancement of the Allied presence in the Baltic States.
Discussions could include “the minimum-allowed distances between ships and aircraft in the same area, establishing special radio frequencies for them to communicate, and so on”.
“They are obviously trying to improve”, said one allied official.
This is a relief to some observers. As we know, there has always been a USA presence within Europe, which was happily reduced after the end of the Cold War. “Both sides have political and economic limitations that should rein in enthusiasm for any new cold war”.
The statement said Russian authorities did not explain the expulsion. Or maybe it is time for a new cooperative group – an International Anti-Terrorism Organization – to focus on today’s threats rather than those of the past. “This trend will become even stronger with the arrival of a new president, irrespective of who wins the election, Trump or Clinton”, said Yevseyev.
So far the response to the summit in Russian Federation hasn’t been as acrimonious as expected.

The NATO leadership has already declared the intention to adopt a number of “trust-building measures”. Moscow also continues to conduct military exercises in the Russian region bordering the Baltic states. When asked if the EU was going to relax its sanctions against Russian Federation, you could sense just how deep is the fear and suspicion of Putin in European Council president Donald Tusk’s rebuttal, rich as it was in allusions to the 1930s. And Russia-baiting pundits think Putin is the one with quasi-imperial dreams.
