Navy official: Not ruling out charging service member who fired on Chattanooga
Military personnel are banned from carrying weapons inside military recruiting and reserve stations.

Today, in a report from the Chattanoogan, a spokesman for the U.S. Navy has denied reports that disciplinary charges will be filed against Lt. Allen West wrote in a blog post over the weekend that he was “fighting dog mad and seriously pissed off” after a source told him the U.S. Navy was bringing charges against Lt. Commander Timothy White who discharged his gun on federal property as a defensive maneuver against the Muhammad Abdulazeez last month.
Western Journalism’s James Beattie reported back on July 22 that Lt. Cmdr.
Timothy White, West said that the Navy is prosecuting him for using his gun. “He deserves a medal, not an indictment”, Webb tweeted Saturday. He later added, “The charge being considered is illegally discharging a firearm on federal property”. No on the record comment was offered, ‘ read another.
Former congressman and retired US Army colonel Allen West also appeared to confirm the charges in a post written on 1 August.
Former Rep. Allen West, a veteran, that he inquired concerning the expenses in a textual content message and, “I can affirm that the USA Navy is bringing expenses towards Lt. Cmdr”.
A senior defense official told Fox News on Monday morning that it is “extremely unlikely” that White would be charged; however, a proper investigation into the events in Chattanooga needed to occur. “Hurt police efforts?” the official said.
Fox News reported that White and one of the Marines murdered in the attack fired their weapons against Abdulazeez.
“Indeed, Lt. Cmdr. Tim White has now indicated that he was in possession of a personal weapon and did return fire, either suppression cover fire to allow his personnel to take cover, or perhaps he fired directly at the assailant”. Rumours circulated that the sailor, identified as Lieutenant Commander Timothy White, was allegedly charged with illegally discharging a weapon on federal property.

It has not yet been released whether or not any of White’s shots hit Abdulazeez.
