Sharif is now visiting NY to attend the 71st UN General Assembly session.

Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif brushed aside the Indian journalist who tried to question him about Uri attack.

Pakistan denies any role in the raid, one of the deadliest in the divided Himalayan region over which India and Pakistan have fought two of their three wars.

The flare-up in violence comes after India blamed Pakistan for Sunday’s attack on the brigade headquarters in the town of Uri near the border that killed 18 soldiers, heightening already tense relations between the nuclear-armed neighbours.

Notedly, a section of security establishment is in favour of launching surgical strikes against Pakistan to destroy terror camps operating in Pakistan-held Kashmir.

France and Canada also condemned the attack and said they stand with India in the fight against terrorism, as worldwide denunciation continued to pour in against the brazen assault carried out by suspected Pakistan-based terrorists of Jaish-e-Mohammed.

Yesterday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Mr Singh had chaired high-level meetings in the backdrop of the attack. Pakistan has, however, flatly rejected New Delhi’s claims of involvement in the Uri terror attack, stating that the latter has a traditional tendency to point fingers at the former whenever a terror attack takes place on Indian soil. We must not give much attention to Pakistan’s reaction.

Sharif also added when he met Kerry earlier on Monday that, ” I still remember the former President Bill Clinton had promised that the USA would play its role to help out in resolving bilateral disputes and issues between India and Pakistan ” online report by Dawn.

Alleging that atrocities in Kashmir had touched extremes, Pakistan PM Nawaz sharif had said last week that ‘Pakistan will continue to extend moral, diplomatic and political support to Kashmiris’. It conveys its condolences to the families of the 17 Indian soldiers killed in this attack.

He said that India was levelling allegations on Pakistan without any proofs. The Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) Lt. Gen. Ranbir Singh will hand over the evidence to Pakistan military officials.
