Sharif also raked up the Burhan Wani issue and said he was a young leader murdered by Indian forces.

She also noted that the land of Taxila, which lies 20 miles north-west of Islamabad, an important and great learning place of ancient times, “is now host to the Ivy League of terrorism”.

Surjewala also tweeted, “PM Sharif once again betrayed Pakistan’s mindless obsession with Kashmir at UNGA”.

“With the approval of the authorities, many terrorist organisations raise funds openly in flagrant violation of Pakistan’s worldwide obligations”, she said, branding the hostile neighbour a “terrorist state”. He also urged United Nations, and global community to stop killings and human rights violations in Indian held Kashmir.

Referring to Sharif’s speech, he reminded everyone that nearly 50 countries have spoken at the UNGA until now, but no one referred to the issue (Kashmir) that Sharif devoted 80 percent of his speech to.

In a full blown diplomatic offensive aimed at isolating Pakistan in the worldwide arena, India has described it as “host to the Ivy League terrorism” and a “terrorist state”, The Times of India reported.

In one short sentence, the Indian representative addressed any concern at the United Nations over the Kashmir issue – including from many OIC and Arab monarchies and dictatorships that profess support to Pakistan, but are also victims of terrorism: “As a democracy India is firmly resolved to protect all our citizens from all acts of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir”.

We have heard Pakistan, whose nuclear proliferation record is marked by deception and deceit, talking about restraint, renunciation and peace. The bodies of the terrorists had Pakistan markings signalling that the attack was a cross-border terror.

“The Secretary-General stressed the need for Pakistan and India to address their outstanding issues, including Kashmir, through dialogue in the interest of both countries and the region as a whole”, according to a brief statement by Ban’s spokesperson. What my country and our other neighbours are facing today is Pakistans long-standing policy of sponsoring terrorism, the consequences of which have spread well beyond our region. Let us be clear: talks are no favor to Pakistan.

Wani, he said, has emerged as the symbol of the latest Kashmiri Intifada, “a popular and peaceful freedom movement, led by Kashmiris, young and old, men and women, armed only with an undying faith in the legitimacy of their cause, and a hunger for freedom in their hearts”.
