TheNarendraa Modi government has chose to take its second step against Pakistan in response to the Uri terror attack. Reports suggest that the conversation was the first between the two since Sunday’s terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Uri region, in which 18 Indian Army soldiers lost their lives.
While Pakistan has raised the Kashmir issue at the high-level segments of the General Assembly and other United Nations platforms in previous years, Sharif appears set to take an even more aggressive stand on Kashmir at the world body, having vowed in Pakistan to “emphatically highlight” the issue and the alleged human rights abuses by India.
According to sources, NIA will collect the blood samples and finger prints of the four killed terrorists in Uri.
That attack escalated tensions between India and Pakistan and provoked calls for revenge, with New Delhi blaming Islamabad-backed militants for the deadly strike, an allegation Pakistan strongly denied.
But until now, little hard evidence has emerged to link the perpetrators of the terror attack in Uri to specific jihadist groups in Pakistan, NIA officials said.
India accuses Pakistan of training rebels in its territory and then helping them infiltrate into the Indian side. According to a readout of his meeting with Kerry by the Pakistan mission, Sharif told him that more than 107 people have been “assassinated” in Kashmir, thousands injured and “worst human rights violations are being committed at the state level”.
After the Uri attack, the terrorists had again made an audacious attempt to cross the Line of Control in Uri and Nowgam sectors with Pakistani troops violating ceasefire and firing at Indian positions to give cover to the terrorists.

He also said the Pakistani Prime Minister should have been renamed to “Be-Nawaz Sharir”.
